Meet the Residents
Our Blue Roses

Daily Life
Thanks to the generosity of our patrons and donors, our residents at Village of The Blue Rose lead independent and fulfilling lives! Their work weeks begin Wednesday at 11am. Our residents, or as we like to call them, our Blue Roses, are responsible for the restaurant and bed and breakfast. They complete tasks like cleaning, cooking, and customer service. When you come to visit be prepared to be treated like family!
Our residents’ workdays end at 3pm, and their work weeks are over on Sunday. Sunday mornings, however, many of our residents attend service at the Catholic Church in Louisiana, Missouri before work. Due to this schedule, our Blue Roses have personal days on Monday and Tuesday, when they can complete personal tasks such as grocery shopping, laundry, and hobbies.
Our residents have lots of hobbies and passions such as sports and community involvement. We are so proud of our residents and all their accomplishments! Two of our residents play for the Blues Special Hockey Team, for which they attend practice weekly and even play in international tournaments. Three of our residents are proud athletes on the Special Olympics Ski team. Finally, our three male residents, Don, Tom, and Scott are all members of the Knights of Columbus at their church. In case you weren’t sure, The Knights of Columbus are a Catholic community service-based organization that work towards bettering our local and global community.
